In 2025 I had a stroke, and at the time it really impacted my sight. At a time where the system let me down, Henshaws stepped up with amazing support.

While I've had significant improvements to my sight, Henshaws have significantly made the last 12 months so much easier for me, the amount of care and compassion they've shown me while I've been lost in an overwhelming system has been amazing

Having now experienced first hand the difference they can make to peoples lives, I want to now give back to make sure they can continue to do this for others, and raise awareness about a charity that until a year ago, I'd never heard of myself!

Running has become a massive part of my journey, I've completed a parkrun every week for the last 11 months, but I'm still yet to make it to 10k. After cheering on this run from the sidelines last year, I booked on to it for this year assuming that it's more than long enough to build up to it - but my health has tried to block my training every step of the way! I may be crawling over the finish line, but completing this 10k will mean the world to me
