In October, I’ll be taking on a 100km running challenge throughout the month to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

I sadly lost my grandad to cancer a few years ago and I’ve also seen the pain and suffering cancer caused for my dad and step mum in there battle alongside other freinds and family who have suffered with the disease. With cancer being present throughout my family this is something that means a lot to me personally.

Cancer is a horrible disease that can affect anyone at any age at any given time. It doesn’t just affect the person diagnosed either it can have a huge impact on their family, friends and everyone around them. It can even affect animals which is something I have experienced personally after losing my dog to cancer.

I’m running these 100km for everyone affected by cancer young or old, human or animal those fighting it those who have overcome it and those we have sadly lost.

100km will be a huge challenge for me, but if every kilometre can help raise money towards better treatments and ultimately beating this horrible disease it will be worth every step.
