Jeremy is raising for Pancreatic Cancer UK

London Marathon 2025 · 27 April 2025 ·
Some of you may know that seven years ago I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
Today, I’m cancer free and proud to be a trustee of Pancreatic Cancer UK, a remarkable charity working to improve outcomes for those affected by this devastating disease.
I know how lucky I am. Pancreatic cancer has the bleakest survival rate among the top twenty cancers. Only half of those diagnosed survive three months and just one in ten survive longer than a year. By 2027, it’s set to become the UK’s fourth biggest cancer killer, surpassing breast cancer. Yet, it receives just 3% of the UK’s cancer research budget.
The statistics are grim, but breakthroughs are within reach and PCUK is spearheading initiatives to improve patients’ lives, advance early detection, and boost survival rates. These efforts are critical.
In a significant milestone, PCUK has been named charity of the year for the 2025 London Marathon. So despite never having run before, I'll be taking part in this landmark event to show my support and raise funds.
I've never asked for sponsorship before and don’t expect to do so again, but wonder if you’d consider supporting me as I embark on training for the day – I really need all the encouragement possible !!
Thank you.
Jeremy
