Prostate Cancer UK has a simple ambition - to stop men dying from prostate cancer. Through shifting the science over the next 10 years to focus on radical improvements in diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and support, we will stop prostate cancer being a killer.

Story

I'm raising money for Prostate Cancer UK by cycling over 100 miles in the Tour de Môn, round Anglesey cycle event.

My Dad passed away last year, having lived with Prostate Cancer for over 17 years. He never expected to survive so long and the treatments and side effects definitely had an impact on his quality of life in later years.

Prostate cancer stands to be the most common cancer in the UK by the end of this decade. I want to help to raise awareness for the 1 in 8 men in the UK who will be diagnosed in their lifetime. The earlier that diagnosis is then the better the chances for treatment. Those men over 50 reading this should consider taking Prostate Cancer UK's 30 second risk checker quiz.

Prostate Cancer UK are working for better diagnosis, treatment, support and prevention. They are also campaigning to find the 14,000 men who didn't get a diagnosis during the pandemic.

Dad loved Anglesey - visiting every summer. There seems no better way to remember him than cycling all the a way around it. I've never cycled further than half this distance so I enter this event with some trepidation, it's definitely going to be a challenge.

Thanks for reading, for your support, and of course your donations.
