Story
Hello,
On Friday 9th October this year I shall be joining a large group of people sleeping out on the streets for one night. The following day is World Homeless Day 2026, when individuals and organisations around the world will be trying to raise awareness of the issue. This will be the 14th year of Glass Door's annual sleepout beside King's Road on a Friday night in October (I have personally been there every year).
I will again this year be part of a team from St Mary Abbots Church in Kensington. We have a close relationship with the Charity and as a team hope to raise as much money as possible in support of the Glass Door Homeless Charity, who support and shelter those in the local community who are at an absolute crisis point with nowhere else to turn.
Glass Door welcomes everyone as their guest. Their doors are open to everyone, no matter who they are. In winter, they run emergency night shelters, providing a hot meal and a safe place to sleep, and year-round, they offer expert advice and support to help people find a route out of homelessness.
Please donate what you can, because everyone has the right to call somewhere home.
Thank you!
