Story
Jeremy has a condition called Charcot Marie Tooth (CMT). His version is among the most aggressive that exists causing gradually worsening leg and arm weakness and vision impairment. Despite gradually losing more function as years go by, he excels at math and is highly empathetic and won a school award for optimism this year.
Through the CMTA we have had the good fortune of connecting with a group at the Gladstone Institute (affiliated with UCSF) and another group out of UCSD who are pioneering new treatments that might change Jeremy's life. Research often seems like a marathon. But advances are coming faster than most realize, as if we just ran over a hill and for the first time can see a finish line. We do believe that now is the time to act and support their efforts.
CMTA supports both of these groups and donations made here will go directly towards funding research related to Jeremy's variant of CMT. There is currently a 100% match on donations made through the end of this year also. Thank you for considering making a tax-deductible gift this month.
With Appreciation,
Michael & Korina
