Story
Hi, my name is Jerri, and I’m fundraising for Sheffield Royal Society for the Blind by doing something that’s been on my bucket list for years… a skydive.
I’m blind, and this charity is incredibly close to my heart. Sheffield Royal Society for the Blind has supported me for a huge part of my life and continues to support blind and visually impaired people in ways that truly change lives. From practical support and advice, to social groups, activities, sports, and wellbeing sessions — they create a community where sight loss doesn’t mean isolation.
Living with blindness comes with challenges people don’t always see. Confidence, independence, mental health, and feeling understood all matter — and SRSB provides a safe, welcoming place where blind people can just be themselves. They’ve helped me build resilience, friendships, and belief in what I can still do.
This skydive is my way of giving back and showing that blindness doesn’t mean limits. I may not see the view on the way down, but I’ll feel every second of it — and I can’t wait to finally tick this off my bucket list.
And don’t worry — my guide dog Margo will not be joining me for the jump… she’s very much staying on the ground, supervising safely
Every donation, big or small, helps Sheffield Royal Society for the Blind continue their vital work supporting people living with sight loss. Thank you so much for supporting me, backing this incredible charity, and helping make a real difference
