Great Wall of China Trekk for LOROS · 19 October 2024

In October 2024 we will attempt to trek for five days along The Great Wall of China, covering 35km all in aid of LOROS Hospice. Please dig deep and support those taking on this tough challenge supporting patients and their families.

Story

I am passionate about raising funds for LOROS as I have had first hand experience about the excellent selfless care provided, full of dignity and compassion, to my family and friends. My forthcoming fundraising events is Trekking along The Great Wall of Chine.

The Great Wall of China has been voted one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Stretching for 6,000km, it zig-zags its way across China, snaking across mountains and through valleys.

Please join me on a journey to conquer the Great Wall of China and make a difference in the lives of terminally ill patients and their families. As I trek five tough days along this magnificent manmade structure over 35km. I will pass through watch towers and mountains, historic battlement stations that are well off the tourist trail. The trekking on this challenge is hard due to the number of steps up and down each day – it can sometimes take an hour just to trek 1km! But I am determined to push through and conquer the 1,000 steps up to the wall at Mutianyu – culminating with the ascent of the ‘Heavenly Ladder’.

I am participating in the 'Great Wall of China Trek for LOROS' in October 2024. My goal is to raise £2,500 for LOROS Hospice in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. This personal trek is not just about conquering a physical challenge but also about making a difference in people's lives. Every donation counts towards providing care and support for those who need it most.

Overcoming this challenge will be hard enough but only a fraction of what challenges people have to overcome in their lives. Together we can make a difference to the lives of terminally ill patients and their families. Please support generously.
