Help raise £5000 to plant 5000 trees! Lemurs and most of Madagascar's unique biodiversity are forest dependent. Chester Zoo works with Madagasikara Voakajy to preserve the forest habitat of Mangabe Reserve for the benefit of people and nature.

Story

Madagasikara Voakajy is a Malagasy biodiversity organisation dedicated to enabling communities to live in harmony with nature and thrive through the protection and regeneration of their natural environment.

With the support of Chester Zoo, MV manage a 27,346 hectare area of controlled land - Mangabe - which is home to some of the world's richest biodiversity and most critically endangered plant and animal species. Through climate change and deforestation, Mangabe's forest cover is reducing every year.

Working within local communities, MV’s talented conservation team harnesses the knowledge and strengths of people who call the protected areas of Madagascar home, to reduce deforestation, reverse the decline of threatened species in Madagascar and safeguard Mangabe's future for the communities who live here.

Please help us support this amazing, unique and crucial landscape - all donations will make a huge difference!
