Our Story

Our beautiful boy, Louie Roger Jollands, was born in November 2024 and has been a true little warrior since day one. Born with complex congenital heart defects, Louie has already undergone multiple life-saving surgeries and continues to show incredible bravery every single day.

Thanks to the extraordinary care from the amazing teams on Ward 47 and Ward 51 at Leeds General Infirmary, and the dedication of Dr Van Doorn, Dr Ali, and Dr Meg, Louie has been given the gift of hope. This fundraiser is our way of giving something back to those who have given so much to him.

A Big Ride for a Brave Heart

Kicking off on 18th August, an incredible team of cyclists will begin a challenging bike ride from Southampton to Scunthorpe—riding hundreds of miles in honour of Louie and all the children fighting heart conditions. The ride will end in style at the Lil’ Louie, Big Heart Fundraising Day on Saturday 23rd August at the Chancel Pub, Cambridge Avenue.

The Children’s Heart Surgery Fund supports babies, children, and families facing congenital heart disease. They provide vital resources, equipment, family support, and improvements to care that make an enormous difference to families like ours.

We want to help them continue their life-saving work—because every child like Louie deserves the very best chance.
