The Myton Hospices - Skydive 24 September Weekend · 21 September 2024 to 22 September 2024 ·

We need to raise £10.5 million this year, so we are genuinely concerned about the impact the spiralling cost of living and energy prices will have on us.

Story

I'm taking part in The Myton Hospices Skydive to help them raise £20,000!

I’m doing this for my dad, who had been battling cancer for the last 4 years and has now heartbreakingly come to an end, who will now, in his own words, be with us in the sky when we do the skydive. He entered the hospice thinking it was going to be a short term ‘break’ from the pressures of life and he hasn’t wanted to leave. That speaks volumes to us as a family as he is a very stubborn man and didn’t want ‘caring for’. The staff and volunteers at Myton are absolutely incredible, to them it isn’t just a job, they take pride and dedication in helping so many vulnerable people and they are truly amazing at it. They couldn’t change our dads prognosis but the definitely did the absolute most to make sure that it wasn’t defining him. We can see the impact of women like Julie and Sophie have had on our dad and although they absolutely love smiles and a cuddle from my little Isla-Jane, me, my brother and sister have decided it’s time to give back and keep this brilliant service going for many more brave people just like our dad.

Until you go through something like this, you really don’t even think about the amazing work that people like myton do, it just doesn’t cross your mind. But it’s an invaluable service and I want to do all I can for the ladies who have the most care and compassion for dad and who treat everybody with nothing but dignity and respect. Please help me reach my goal!
