Weymouth Ironman 70.3 · 14 September 2025

Every two hours someone in the UK is paralysed by a spinal cord injury. It can happen to anyone at any time and no one is prepared for how it will change their life. Aspire is a national charity that provides practical help, supporting spinal cord injured people from injury to independence.

Story

In September I'll be completing the Weymouth Ironman 70.3 to raise money for Aspire, a spinal cord injury charity.

In December 2023, my mum was in a serious car accident while on holiday. She suffered severe spinal cord injuries and, for a while, we didn’t know if she’d ever be able to live independently again. Thanks to some seriously incredible medical care and her own determination, she’s made an amazing recovery. She’s mobile, independent and even back on a two-wheel bike.

Aspire supported her during recovery and are also helping many others facing life after a spinal injury. They provide accessible housing, advice and support to help people rebuild their independence.

Thank you so much for your support!
