Story
On the 6th April I will be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon for the Sue Ryder foundation, in memory of Annabel Avison, my godfather’s daughter.
Annie was diagnosed with advanced bowel cancer at the age of just 25, and passed away just over a year later, a few days before her 27th birthday.
The Sue Ryder foundation not only provided support to Annie at the end of her life, but also in her final months. Annie’s parents recognise the Sue Ryder foundation as giving perhaps the most help when she most needed it, by listening to her and importantly hearing her, ultimately making her life better with their help.
Through donating to this charity, you will be helping to raise much needed funds so that they can continue to provide expert palliative care and bereavement support for patients and families when they need it the most.
Despite it being quite common to run a half marathon recently, anyone who knows me will appreciate that this is a huge challenge for me! Before getting my place at the end of January, I’d hardly run before, but saw this as a great opportunity to challenge myself to raise money for a charity that means so much to so many people close to me.
Thank you so much for any donation that you can make- Jess x
