Story
On 12th October 2025, I’ll be taking on the Manchester Half Marathon in memory of Greg’s Dad, Steve.
Steve’s passing in March this year came as a huge shock. He fell ill suddenly in January and was diagnosed with a DVT, suffered strokes, a bleed and pancreatic cancer that had metastasised and then within a couple of months we had to say goodbye. It’s hard to put into words just how much he meant to his family and friends and the impact that he made on everyone who knew him.
In those incredibly difficult final days, St Ann’s Hospice was there. Their compassion and care gave comfort not only to Steve, but also to his family and friends, knowing that he was in the best place. They supported during our darkest days in a way we didn’t even know we needed and for that I’ll forever be grateful 🤍
Steve always asked about my running and that’s why I’m lacing up my shoes again and taking on this challenge 🏃🏼♀️ To give back to the hospice that helped when he needed it most and also to help me get back on track after an unbelievably tough few months and the loss of some amazing people.
Moya Cole (previously St Ann’s) Hospice relies heavily on donations to continue providing their incredible care across Manchester. Any amount you can give, big or small, will make a difference to patients and families facing the most difficult times.
Please support if you can. Donate, share this page or simply cheer me on as I train over the next few months.
Thank you so much!
