Story

This May, we’ll be taking on the challenge of climbing Snowdon via the Miners’ Track a demanding but incredibly beautiful trek to raise money for a project that means a great deal to us.

We are fundraising to create a Dementia Garden, a thoughtfully designed outdoor space that brings calm, joy, and meaningful stimulation to people living with dementia.

The money raised will be used to purchase a wishing well, water features, mood and ambient lighting, and a variety of sensory plants chosen for their colour, texture, and fragrance. Together, these elements will help create a vibrant, engaging environment that encourages relaxation, curiosity, and moments of happiness.

Our goal is to turn this garden into both an entertainment space and a place of peace somewhere that can spark memories, soothe anxiety, and offer joy, fun, and comfort for residents and their loved ones.

Every step we take up Snowdon is for those who will benefit from this special space. Any donation, no matter the size, will help us bring this vision to life and make a lasting difference.

Thank you so much for your support it truly means everything to us.

As a not-for-profit organisation, Belong’s charitable objectives focus on providing high quality support and accommodation for older people, primarily through our vibrant community villages and bespoke home care service. We reinvest any surpluses with a view to continuously improving our provision and we are always exploring new opportunities, technologies and ideas that could make life better for those living with us.
