London Marathon 2024 · 21 April 2024 ·

We’re the National Deaf Children’s Society. We're the charity for deaf children with any level of hearing loss. Whatever the question or challenge, we’ll help find a way through. We believe in a world where anything is possible for deaf children.

Story

Although I don't particularly enjoy running (oops) I am running London Marathon in April 2024 to raise money for a charity close to my heart - The National Deaf Children's Society. 💜

Growing up partially hearing (deaf in one ear) I have always faced challenges in education, the workplace, and just socially! That being said, I have also been very privileged and lucky enough that my hearing has never held me back from anything I needed or wanted to do. Unfortunately many children and families in the UK are not as fortunate.

The National Deaf Children's Society provides expert support on childhood deafness, raises awareness, and campaigns for deaf children’s rights so that they have the same opportunities as everyone else. Their work includes providing Sign Language education for families, lobbying the government to improve audiology services and calling for more teachers to be qualified as ToD (Teachers of the Deaf), and educating employers on how to support deaf colleagues.

Your support for myself and this great cause would be very much appreciated! 💜

🏃‍♀️ Enough from me, off to start running and hopefully not break a leg before my wedding in June!! 🏃‍♀️
