Story

I am raising much needed funds for St Augustine's Centre Halifax. If you know me, you'll know how much I care about this amazing place and its wonderful community, where I am one of the co-chairs of trustees.

At St Augustine's we work together to welcome and support refugees and people seeking asylum - giving people the practical support they need to rebuild their lives with dignity and offering a range of activities that help them feel happier and more connected.

But, in order to provide our excellent services and challenge the hostile environment - we urgently need funds; particularly given the pressures of the cost of living crisis.

As a community we are taking on the All Together fundraising challenge to walk, run, climb, cycle, swim, and row a collective 24,901 miles - the circumference of the Earth! Together we'll aim to raise £24,000!

My personal challenge is to undertake the Dunwich Dynamo - a 120 mile bike ride, through the night, from London to Dunwich on the Suffolk Coast. If you look it up, it says it's 112 miles but I've never done it without getting lost so it's at least 120 for me! Plus, I need to train for it. So - all in all - I am pledging to ride 400 miles and hoping to raise £400 in total.

Please support me - and St Augustine's - in showing that love wins and that no-one is illegal! 🧡🧡🧡

Thank you!

Jess
