Story
The Green Hub Project for Teens is a local charity helping young people with anxiety and mental health challenges. The work they do getting young people outdoors in nature is amazing, and the support they give to teenagers, parents and families can be a real lifeline.
Their approach is based on 'the Five Ways to Wellbeing' and being part of the Green Hub 'Guildford 10K' Team is a perfect example of why this can be so powerful ...
- Connecting... with people by being part of a team
- Being outdoors and active... perfect for running
- Taking notice... running is a great way to see the local countryside
- Learning... about running technique and training methods
- Giving back... by raising valuable funds to help
We’ve decided to do this challenge together!
Jess: I’ve been volunteering as a garden leader at The Green Hub for the last 4 years or so and am fully behind what we stand for having seen the positive effects of gardening both in myself and others. I’ve never run further than about 7km so this will be a personal challenge for me and has kick started a bit of a fitness boost!
Nick: I really enjoy running (when time allows) and can see the positive effect exercise has on mental health clearly. I wanted to support Jess in the run and also The Green Hub for the work they do!
Your support means so much, whatever the amount. Thank you!
