Story
As some of you may know, I ran the Edinburgh 10K last year in memory Cruse Scotland. This year, I have decided to run the Scottish Half Marathon on the 17th August and thought I would use this opportunity to raise money once again for this brilliant charity.
Charities such as Cruse Scotland are a crucial source of support to individuals and families navigating bereavement, as similar charities were to my family after the loss of my dad in 2018.
Therefore, I am fundraising again for Cruse to be able to help this charity provide more support for others, especially children and teens, who are going through a similar difficult time losing a loved one.
Support and fundraising for bereavement charities is even more important following the 2017 bereavement cuts that have still not yet been reversed, and in supporting charities such as Cruse, you are supporting families who are negatively impacted by the system, and require that bit of extra support.
1 in 5 people struggle to cope with their grief following the death of a loved one and require additional support.
Cruse Scotland offers this to those in need. They provide free specialist bereavement listening and counselling services, so that those needing support receive the right help at the right time, building resilience and improving wellbeing.
