Story
Have your New Year resolutions ever included “must do a triathlon this year”? No, neither did ours. And yet in less than two weeks’ time, Lizzy, Ruth, and Jessica will be hitting the bike, the tarmac, and the water in aid of Arts at the Old Fire Station. Have we lost the plot? Probably.
Still, it is a wonderful cause that works in partnership with Crisis to include people with lived experience of homelessness in the day-to-day life of the arts centre. People experiencing homelessness are invited to co-create and lead artistic work in the theatre and gallery, watch shows for free, join volunteering and training schemes or become staff or trustees. Arts at the Old Fire Station believes art is for everyone, and their work helps to bring out people's potential: 'It's learning to live in a healthier way, remembering you have value. Like colour coming back into the world.'
Do please sponsor us as we put our bodies through the wringer. We’re aiming to raise £500 each to a total of £1,500. Anything you can do will encourage us to go further, faster, stronger. THANK YOU!
