Group Move Day · 7 December 2024

The Bumblebee Children’s Charity is a specialist centre working together with families to support babies and young children with physical difficulties taking part in a fun filled sensory programme. Families do not pay for this service. The Bumblebee Children’s Charity incorporates all aspects of the child’s development (physical, cognitive, social and emotional) into its programme. Every child has different needs, so the programme is designed around the individual child and related to his or her age and abilities. The staff team are always there to guide and support. Parents/primary carers work with their child, usually as part of a group, using equipment, toys and songs to make the tasks enjoyable and productive. It is important that the parent and child are involved together in the learning process and all skills learned are closely related to those which serve a purpose at home.

Story

In replacement of gifts for Cleo's fourth birthday we have decided to raise money for a charity very close to our hearts. The Bumblebee Children's Charity. Miracles in Movement is their slogan and that couldn't be truer. A weekly movement classes for children aged 0-5 with mobility difficulties. Each element of the class is meticulously organised to help challenge and support each child's development and confidence. Cleo's first class was in May 2023 and as a lot of you know, has come along vast amounts with regards to her movement. Then, she was only sitting and reaching, contemplating a bum shuffle. 18 months later, she's strengthened her abilities to crawl, pull up to stand, side-step and walk with her walker.

On the 7th December, we invite you to move your body with that miracle in movement slogan in your head. Acknowledging how hard Cleo and her Bumblebee pals have worked to move. But also taking time to appreciate how lucky so many of us are, that we just move, no issues, no pains, we just do it. Charlie and I will be doing the ParkRun at Felixstowe and would love as many of you to join us! But if a 5k job isn't up your street or available wherever you are, a family walk/bike ride/yoga sesh/swim- anything, would be a glorious thing. OR if you'd rather challenge yourself more then go for it you crazy cat.

If you participate please tag me on insta and share the hashtags #NotAGiven #MiraclesInMovement to spread the word about this wonderful charity!
