In September 2023, my dad Graham, was diagnosed with Bowel Cancer. Unfortunately this same disease took my Grandad's life at the age of 48, before I could meet him. Due to the advanced screening programme, the cancer was caught early and he had an operation to remove the tumour and will remain on screening due to the high risk.

We are both running the Leamington Half Marathon on Sunday 23rd June 2024 to raise awareness and money for Bowel Cancer UK. We know that if it wasn't for the screening programme, it could have been a very different outcome due to him having zero symptoms.
