Project 57

Project 57: 57miles for 57years · 11 April 2025
In 2017 my Dad, Andrew Olie was diagnosed at the young age of 51 with a rare form of early onset Dementia called Corticobasal Degeneration. For 7 years he bravely fought this disease until he passed in December 2023.
My Dad was the best person I knew and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him, knew just how rare and special he was.
I always wanted to find a way to honour who he was, everything he stood for and his love for movement.
So… On the 11th April 2025, his birthday, I will be running 57 miles for the 57 years we had with my Dad while raising money for Dementia UK along the way.
My hope and dream is for you to join me and run as much or as little of it with me as you can.
To challenge ourselves, together.
Whether that’s right by my side or wherever you are in the world 🌎
When I started training for this a few months ago, I was scared that I set the bar too high.
I said to my Coach Lewis…
What if I can’t do it?
What if I fail?
And I can hear my Dad saying this as if he was standing next to me “if you think you can, or you think you can’t, either way you are right.”
You see… The stories we tell ourselves hold so much power, and so every mile is an opportunity to rewrite that narrative.
So while 57miles (approx 93km) will be the furthest I’ve ever run in my entire life, I know he will be with me every step of the way.
This is Project 57, my Dad’s Legacy 💙🪽
All my love,
Jess
