Story
Mission Together is the Pope's official children's charity. Through it's work in Catholic schools and parishes, young people around the world are encouraged to recognise themselves as members of God's global family, supporting one another through prayer, action, and by sharing what they can. We are inviting you to be part of this mission too. With your help, Mission Together's overseas projects support the educational, physical, psychological, and spiritual development of children living in places of extreme poverty and conflict. Following the example of Jesus, these projects support every child, regardless of background or belief. Thank you in advance for any support you can give. Every contribution makes a difference. We can achieve so much when we share and pray together, as God’s family.
2026 FUNDRAISER - TOGETHER IN CAMBODIA
In the past decade Cambodia has made good progress in reducing acute poverty – around 20% of the population now live in this state. However, the consequences of COVID and climate change have caused additional challenges. Unsurprisingly, children are most affected; with malnutrition, limited access to healthcare, and inequalities in educational access and attainment for children with disabilities and those living in remote regions.
Since the reintroduction of the Catholic Church – following the devastating civil war and rule of the Khmer Rouge – parishes across Cambodia have been instrumental in promoting education. Missio, and it’s children branch Mission Together, have assisted in the funding of scholarships, student hostels, and kindergartens. As only 37% of children attend kindergartens, due in the main to the limited free state provision, the Church recognised the need to invest especially in free early years education.
There are dozens of parish kindergartens across Cambodia. These are added to the thousands of parish kindergartens in mission areas of poverty and conflict around the world – all supported by the global Missio network. Your prayers and donations help us to continue this support, and we are very grateful for your participation.
