As I sit here thinking of my ‘why’ to picking Mind charity I think about all I have been through in my life so far and how I get through each day. If I think outside myself I can count many people I love who also struggle with mental health challenges.

I still face anxiety, panic attacks and depression as a result of the accident I was involved in. But not only that facing day to day life sometimes feels impossible. I know I’m not alone here as many others probably feel the same.

Whether we’re facing loss, illness, stress or bereavement, we as humans all face it at some point in our lives.

Without charities, like Mind I have no idea where I’d be now without CBT and Councelling. I have had a regular councillor for almost 4 years now and she is my go to for anything life throws at me. As I have learnt now life can be very unpredictable, but you can still find beauty in the every day.

I will be running the London Marathon on the 21st April 2024. I guess for the average person achieving a marathon is a massive achievement, but for me and my leg injury it’s actually quite major of an achievement. Also massive reminder of how Incredible our bodies can heal!

Training has been hard, as I struggle running on roads, in the dark and generally don’t love running as much as I used to. I’ve had a couple of panic attacks but I solider on… so if you can spear a few quid to help me cross that finish life, raise money and awareness for an important charity I’d be forever grateful.
