Story
On the 1st of September, I will be running the Bridgwater Half Marathon in memory of my brother, James Satchell, and my dear friend, Luis Wilton.
On the 5th September 2014, we lost James in a fatal car accident. James and I were incredibly close and a huge hole was left in my heart that day, I continue to miss him more and more with every day and I truly cannot believe that 10 years have passed. Everything I do, is to make my brother proud and to experience the opportunities he has missed out on. I am not a runner, and James would probably laugh at the idea of me running, but I wanted to challenge myself to do something meaningful to mark his anniversary.
On the 31st March this year, another beautiful person was taken too soon and once again my heart broken. Luis Wilton was someone I loved dearly, a long-term friend of mine and also a close friend of James’; therefore it only feels right to run in memory of them both together. Luis tried, and failed miserably, to get me to run, so I hope, wherever he is, he will be proud to see me run a distance I never thought I could.
I have chosen to raise money for The Josh Evans Trust Fund because Josh, the son of Tracy and John Evans, was also tragically taken too soon, in a fatal car accident, as a result of a hypoglycaemic attack.
