Story
Over the last year QEF has worked with over 10,000 disabled adults and children living with physical and learning disabilities or acquired brain injuries, supporting them in gaining new skills and increased independence.
Whether its learning everyday life skills, rebuilding a life affected by brain injury or acquiring the skills to drive a specially adapted car, QEF supports disabled people to achieve their potential, so they can be as independent as possible and live enriched and fulfilled lives.
There are 16m disabled people in the UK.
Every 90 seconds someone is admitted into hospital with an acquired brain injury.
In the next 20 years, the rate of first-time strokes in people 45+ is expected to rise by 59%.
Leo has been a huge advocate of QEF since he was old enough to walk buying and recycling at his local QEF in Chessington. At age 4 Leo proudly ran the 1 mile marathon raising £1800 dressed as Batman.
This year he is going for the 2.6km at age 6 to support a super worthy cause. We are so proud of Leo and his dedication to care for others. He is kind, empathetic and a genuine soul. Please all support as much as you can to raise not just awareness but to assist in mobility for those that need it.
Leo was diagnosed with Autism in 2022, but nothing had held him back, if anything it’s given him more to achieve and help others in the best way he can.
Just through his gift aid alone and the funds raised previous Leo is at staggering £2,654 at just age 6.
Please all dig deep to support him and his uncle on raising the funds dressed as pikachu and Ash.
