YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE

The Friends of Akitas Trust (UK) is a registered charity and we rely solely on public donations to secure the future of the dogs in our care. Currently the Trust funds 10 ‘safe’ kennel spaces and supports the few foster homes we are lucky enough to have.

On average, we care for between 30 and 40 dogs per month. Some of these dogs are in our ‘safe’ kennels, others are in foster care and some still in their existing homes, all waiting for their new forever families to come and give them the love and warmth they all so desperately need. At present, March 2011, we are at an all time high with no less than 47 dogs on our website for re-homing.

On top of kennelling fees, we also ensure that all of the dogs in our kennels and foster care are vaccinated and vet checked, and every dog that comes through the organisation is either micro-chipped, or has their existing microchip details updated. Some of the dogs in our care also need vet treatment for illness.

With the number of abandoned Akitas growing at a steady rate, we need to secure monthly funding to help us to maintain the work we do as a charity and to continue saving the lives of these beautiful dogs.

Many of the dogs come to us without a collar or lead, some have never even had a toy to call their own.

Every penny of your donation goes to the dogs, be it for kennelling, micro-chipping, vaccinating, vet care or a nice toy to help brighten their day.
