Story

On 6th April 2025, I will be hitting the streets of London to run the London Landmarks Half Marathon in aid of The Migraine Trust

I have been suffering with migraines since my mid teens. It really has an affected my work & social life, having to take days off work or cancelling weekend plans due to the debilitating pain & sickness I end up with

For me, the pain tends to start in the early hours of the morning usually with a sharp pain in the same part of my head. This causes pain in my eyes, they become sensitive to bright lights, along with a numbness in the side of my cheek and nose on one side, as well as nausea and sickness. Getting out of bed and standing becomes the hardest of tasks. I only drive once I’m feeling 100% after a migraine attack because even the aftermath of having one, makes my head feel bruised from the intensity of the pain. One of the most frustrating things is not knowing what triggers them! They truly can be unbearable to deal with sometimes depending on the intensity.

Around one in seven people get migraine. Over a billion people worldwide get migraine, and over 10 million in the UK.

Migraine impacts on every area of a person's life - from relationships, to work. The Migraine Trust is here to ensure that nobody living with migraine feels isolated or alone, and that they can live the life they want despite this debilitating condition.

Please show your support by sponsoring me for this event. It really will spur me on in those miles where I’m struggling most!

Thank you!
