Story
Working in care has always been something close to my heart and a big passion of mine. I have been in the sector for 10 years and worked my way through various roles with the same goal to genuinely make a difference to those who are unable to do so themselves.
It has got to be up there with one of the most mentally challenging and demanding roles - imagine being responsible for someone else’s wellbeing day in day out; this could be paid or unpaid.
At one point in your life there is a high likelihood that yourself or a close relative will need support from a carer - they too deserve appreciation and support for when they may need some additional support themselves!
There are 1.5 million care workers in the UK, contributing to one of the largest workforces, and caring for some of the most vulnerable people in our society, yet the sector is not recognised enough for its effortless and emotional dedication.
I will be taking part at Maidstone in June or July - awaiting dates to confirm
