Story
We’re Jess and Jamie, sisters taking on the AJ Bell Great Manchester Run 10K in May 2026 to raise money for UK-Med. This will be Jamie’s first ever 10K and Jess’s second, making it a meaningful challenge for both of us.
We’ve chosen to fundraise for UK-Med because their work is incredibly close to home. Jamie works for UK-Med, having joined in November 2024 after completing an MSc in International Disaster Management, and sees first-hand the impact of their life-saving work. Jess has worked in healthcare for the past five years as a pharmacist at King’s College Hospital in London, so access to urgent medical care is something we both care deeply about.
When disasters and crises hit, people still need healthcare – that’s where UK-Med steps in. They rapidly deploy expert health staff to deliver urgent care, support overwhelmed hospitals, and train local medics – often in the most challenging environments imaginable. In 2025 alone, UK-Med helped over half a million people, and they’re ready to do it again wherever and whenever they’re needed.
We’d be so grateful for any support – whether that’s donating, sharing our page, or cheering us on. Every contribution helps UK-Med continue their vital, life-saving work. Thank you 💙
