Story
I'm running the London Marathon to raise money for Stemette Futures, a charity that supports and inspires young women and non-binary people into careers in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Maths).
Stemettes were a huge part of my own journey into tech. I didn’t know anyone in engineering, and my school had a tiny Computer Science department struggling through GCSE CS - but through Stemettes I earned my first coding qualification (PCEP), met real role models working in tech, and found a community of peers through mentoring, events, and networking.
Breaking into tech felt out of reach, but with the Stemettes, it felt like I had a whole cheer squad behind me! Anne-Marie even connected me with people at GCHQ to support my A-Level Computer Science project - that's how much they genuinely care.
Those experiences led me to study Computer Science at university and, ultimately, to my current role as a Software Engineer at JPMorgan!
By supporting Stemette Futures, you'll help more young people access opportunities, mentors, and networks that can shape their futures in STEAM. 💜🏃♀️
