Myself and my running club Newton Runners have been inspired by Kevin Sinfield's "7 in 7" challenges for his best mate and Leeds Rhinos number 7 teammate, the late Rob Burrow. Also, some of our group have unfortunately seen the impact of MND on close friends and family. So we decided to run a marathon of our own to raise money for MND. The route starts at Glossop North End AFC at 6.30am, with the early start being a challenge in itself for some of us. It takes us around 7 of our local football clubs in Tameside. Including Stalybridge Celtic, Mossley FC, Ashton Utd, Curzon Ashton , Droylsden FC , before finishing at Hyde United hopefully in time for the 3pm kick off. We will be running together as a group and no one gets left behind - even though it means we have to listen to Adrian's jokes for the whole 26.2 miles!

The MND Association focus on improving access to care, research and campaigning for those people living with or affected by MND in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
