I’m raising money for the Derby Dementia Choir, run by BrightFutures Un-Ltd, by taking part in a '24 hour Singathon' on October 8th. I’ve seen first-hand what a difference music, singing and friendship can make to people living with dementia, as well as to their families and carers.

The choir is so much more than singing. It gives people a chance to come together, have fun, build friendships and feel part of a community. Music can bring back memories, create moments of connection and, for a while, simply allow people to enjoy themselves without focusing on dementia.

I’m particularly passionate about supporting the choir because I know how important these opportunities are for people who can sometimes become isolated. Every donation, no matter how small, will help us continue providing a welcoming, inclusive and supportive place where people can sing, laugh and enjoy being together.
