Story
I'm taking part in the Duchenne Dash - Duchenne UK's signature fundraising event, that challenges cyclists to ride 300km from London to Paris in 24 hours. On this venture I am joining my good friend John Vose. John’s 12 year old nephew, Felix has Duchenne’s disease, a form of muscular dystrophy. John and his extended family have done a tremendous amount over the years to raise funds for vital research that accelerates the development of treatments for Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a devastating muscle-wasting disease diagnosed in childhood.
John has recently been diagnosed with advanced (metastatic) prostate cancer and feels that this ‘will probably be the last big challenge that he is able to undertake’. Mmmm - not so sure about that if you know John!
So, in addition to raising funds for a great cause, I am also there to support him in his preparations and to ensure that together we successfully complete the 300 kilometres aka Alistair and Jonny Brownlee!!
