Story
This year im celebrating 20 years of recovery by running The 2025 London Marathon and i'm on a mission to raise £1000 or more to help support a very worthy cause: The Forward Trust.
The Forward Trust empowers people to break the cycles of addiction & alcoholism to move forward with their lives. Since 1991, they have been working with people to build positive, productive & useful futures. They believe that anyone is capable of lasting change. Their services have supported thousands of people just like me to make lasting change and create better lives with jobs, family, friends and within their communities.
Addiction & alcoholism is a serious disease which for most ends in jails, institutions, or death. I was 32 when i found recovery, through organisations like The Forward Trust, i was introduced to support fellowships for people just like me that are easy to find and open to anybody with a desire to change - and without which i wouldn't be alive today.
The Forward Trust believes everyone can live a fulfilling life, whatever their past. If you're affected by drug or alcohol issues, past offending, homelessness or unemployment, or know someone that is: Help is out there!
