Story
Together with my son, Brian, and my grandson, Matthew, I wll be walking one of the ancient pilgrim routes of El Camino de Santiago in Spain.
We will be taking the Camino Ingles. The route taken by pilgrims from Britain. It starts at Winchester to Southampton, and then across to La Corua in Spain, and on to Santiago. The total distance is just over 100 km (60.5 miles). This will be done in six stages, and we will reach our destination on Saturday April 18th.
As part of this walk I will be raising funds for The Watford Social Centre for the Blind. A wonderful organisation that gives support and encouragement, to those of us who are suffering sight loss.
The Club is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year. It was started by a determined group of people, after the second world war, who managed to raise funds to purchase a small bomb site in Watford , and construct a suitable hall. The Centre relies entirely on voluntary funding.
