Supporting Wounded Veterans - 2024 Ski Rehabilitation Week

Supporting Wounded Veterans (SWV) helps wounded veterans regain their independence through skiing. Since 2012, SWV has helped hundreds of veterans back into meaningful employment or occupation.
In March 2024 I was selected as a buddy with my colleague Anna Lynch and formed part of a team that supported 25 veterans to take to the slopes to build their confidence and restore their self-belief. It was a surreal experience, where I was truly humbled to carry the bags, listen to their stories, dust them off if they fell over, and generally help out where I could.
On their return home, veterans are supported by a mentor and the SWV employment, training and occupation team to consider and plan their professional and personal goals outside of military life. I am now enrolling as a mentor and intend to support this amazing charity as much as I can to keep on doing their amazing work.
On the 20th April 2024 I intend to undertake the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge which takes on the peaks of Pen-y-Ghent (694 metres), Whernside (736 metres) and Ingleborough (723 metres) in under 12 hours. These hills form part of the Pennine range, and encircle the head of the valley of the River Ribble, in the Yorkshire Dales National Park.
If you would consider sponsoring me for this I would be most grateful.
