Story
Hi everyone, thanks for visiting my JustGiving page!
I am so happy to share that I have been selected to run the 2026 Paris Marathon in support of LymphomaAction.
For too many years I kept saying I must set myself a serious challenge to raise funds for an amazng Charity, and 2026 is the year!
Like many, we have far too many family and close friends that have been touched by Cancer. In our family today we have two loved ones currently facing cancer, specifically different types of blood cancer. They are two out of more than 250,000 people living with this disease daily in the UK.
Closest to my heart, my Sister was diagnosed with Non Hogkin Lymphoma in April 2021. I remember so clearly that evening, the moment that she shared her diagnosis, impossible to describe the feeling. My lasting memories during those early weeks, before her treatment started, were her struggle to process everything about the disease, the treatment, what it meant and how to stay positive. It seemed so difficult to find the clear information and the ‘right’ type of advice - alongside a rollercoaster of emotions and constant cycle of feeling helpless, angry, confused, lost and so much more. Fortunately, there are places to turn in these moments - LymphomaAction is an amazing organisation that offered support to my Sister in some of the most challenging hours.
We are all so proud of how she has dealt with her diagnosis, her treatment and adapted to a compete change of job, lifestyle, diet and more. She’s has always remained so strong, always thinking of others and looking forward. She also enjoys the escape that running brings…but not yet a marathon..:maybe one day :-)
It is for all of these reasons, and many more, that I am taking on this challenge. I would be so grateful if you could contribute in any way possible, with any donation you can give.
Thank you all so much - your support means the world to me and be assured I will be thinking of you all on the 12th April.
