There are 82 islands larger than 5km area off Great Britains coast. I’d previously been on 64 . In my 70th year I set out to “bag” the remaining 18. Yesterday 14th June on my 71st birthday I bagged Baleshare the final one of the 82. Challenge completed !

I’ve celebrated each one by donating £20 to our local St David’s Hospice. I hope others might sponsor me? Or if you have already you might consider a small top up now I’ve completed the challenge. It’s a great cause to help raise much needed funds for.

The 81st was Ronay last Saturday evening due to the kindness of Nic & Nye of Lady Anne Wildlife Cruises out of Kallin, Isle of Grimsay . Then on Sunday 14th , my 71st birthday, bagged the 82nd Baleshare. It’s wonderful 6km white sand beach was a great party venue with Moira, Alan and Margaret - and the otter who ran from the dunes into the sea near us. See main and latest update photos.
