Story
Why I’m running the London Marathon for Cure Leukaemia.
As a consultant haematologist, I see every day the difference that pioneering treatments can make for patients with blood cancer. That’s why I’m proud to be running the London Marathon for Cure Leukaemia, a charity I’ve supported for a number of years and whose impact I witness first hand.
Cure Leukaemia funds a network of specialist research nurses across the UK who are essential to running clinical trials of new drug and transplant treatments. Without these nurses, those trials simply wouldn’t happen — and patients who have exhausted standard treatment options would miss out on potentially lifesaving therapies.
Whether it’s cycling to Paris, pulling on running shorts mid-clinic with Run the Nations, or taking on 26.2 miles through London, every challenge I’ve taken on for Cure Leukaemia has been worth it. Every penny raised helps save lives and brings us closer to eradicating all forms of blood cancer.
Please donate if you can — no amount is too small, and it all makes a real difference. Huge thanks for your support.
