Story
Support My Manchester to Blackpool Bike Ride – In Aid of the Meningitis Research Foundation.
Taking advantage of my mad weight loss journey, inspiration from participating in the recent London to Brighton bike ride, to celebrate my 53rd birthday, (actually 53 and 3 days) and the fact I owe this amazing foundation a return its time to don the lycra again.🤣
There is a back story.
Maisie, our daughter when she was at a child's most susceptible age wasn't eligible for the Men B vaccine from the NHS.
Back then.

Needless to say thanks to a very generous individual we were in the position to use a private service, she was given the potential life saving protection from the devastating disease.
More recently.

On 13th July, I’ll be taking on the Manchester to Blackpool Bike Ride, a 60-mile cycling challenge that will test my legs, lungs, and willpower to support. The Meningitis Research Foundation.
Meningitis is a devastating disease that can strike anyone, at any time. It can take lives in hours, leave survivors with life-changing after-effects, and shatter families. The Meningitis Research Foundation works tirelessly to raise awareness, fund vital support services for survivors, and campaign for better prevention and treatment. They don’t receive the recognition they deserve, but the work they do saves lives and rebuilds them too.
This is more than just a bike ride for me – it’s my way of making a difference. Whether you've seen the effects of meningitis first-hand or simply believe in supporting lifesaving causes, your donation – however big or small – will help make sure no one faces meningitis alone.
The route from Manchester to Blackpool might be scenic, but make no mistake – 60 miles in one day is a serious challenge.
Here’s how you can help:
By donating you’re supporting the Meningitis Research Foundation vital work. Every pound you give goes towards support for survivors, awareness campaigns, and funding for vital services.
Your generosity will power me through every hill, every mile, and all the way to the finish line on the Blackpool Promenade. You know I won't give up 👍 More importantly, it will make a real impact where it matters most.
So please, if you can, donate today and share this page with friends, family, and colleagues. Let’s make a difference together. Let’s ride for change. Let’s ride for those who can’t.
Thank you for your support – I’ll see you at the finish line!
