London to Southend Bike Event · 16 July 2023

Established in memory of Lieutenant Aaron Lewis, who was killed in Afghanistan in December 2008, the Aaron Lewis Foundation is an Essex based charity dedicated to providing access to sport, well being and life changing opportunities

Story

Following a year's battle with cancer in 2016 and subsequent amputation below the knee, my son Conall learnt to ride a bike again thanks to the generous support of The Aaron Lewis Foundation - a local charity in Southend who funded an electric hand-cranked wheelchair bike.

Several years down the line and Con is on 2 wheels and a mountain bike fanatic.

Con and I are now undertaking the 52m London-Southend bike ride - further than he has ridden before, to help raise money for ALF so they can continue to support individuals and families like us.

No donation is too small and greatly appreciated.

Meanwhile the wheelchair bike lives on with it's 3rd owner!
