One of our incredible TV and Radio Production students, Jess, is taking on an extraordinary challenge to raise money for The Christie charity, who are currently caring for her mum during her cancer treatment.

On 5th May, Jess is attempting the Three National Peaks - Ben Nevis, Snowdon and Scafell Pike - back to back! It is a huge physical and mental challenge, and she is doing it for one simple reason: love.

I will be joining her on this journey to show my support. I have experienced first-hand the heartbreak of watching your mum go through cancer treatment, and it is something that stays with you forever. I can only imagine how overwhelming this must feel for Jess at such a young age. It is incredibly tough, yet she is meeting it with courage, determination and selflessness.

The Christie does life-changing work for families when they need it most. If you are able to donate, no matter how big or small, you would be supporting not only a vital charity, but also an amazing young woman who is turning a painful time into something positive for others.

I'll also be running an Ultra Marathon from Carlisle to Newcastle following the Hadrian's wall (70 miles!) which must be completed in under 26 hours, on 13th June. So any support and encouragement would be gratefully received!
