Story
This weekend I am supporting Tough Enough To Care, a mental health charity with a mission to remove the stigma around mental health.
I will be playing against former british and irish lions, Mike Philips and Andy Powell plus a selection of welsh barbarians players hand picked by Mike Philips himself.
There is a naked run involved...link can be shared to the live stream if you fancy looking for a short fat bald man with a limp having a naked jog in the dark...
Followed the next day by a full 7s tournament. I may never walk again, and that is just after the one hit by Andy Powell.
For an idea of what your money can do to help:
£5 can help to provide refreshments for a support group, providing a comfortable environment in which to talk and open up in.
£20 secures a venue for a week of empowering support group sessions.
£50 can provide 2,500 text support cards, directing those in crisis to confidential help and support 24/7 throughout communities in the UK.
£150 keeps our information support phones running for a month.
£200 sponsors a free Mental Health First Aid Champion course for a community hero (in a non-profit or a grass roots sports member), enabling them to recognise signs of crisis and offer vital support.
£500 ensures the annual upkeep of our community response vehicles which are a lifeline for crisis response and service promotion across the UK
£1000 covers 6months of fuel costs for our crisis response vehicles which work 24/7, all year round - Responding to those in mental health crisis
Please consider a donation to a cause that can and does save lives.
Thank you.
