Lifting for Alfie’s Squad – Strength in Support

On 28th September, I’ll be taking on the Flintshires Strongest Man Competition, pushing my physical limits to raise vital funds for Alfie’s Squad—a remarkable charity dedicated to supporting children and young people who have been bereaved by suicide .

Alfie’s Squad was founded by 15 year old Alfie Fitzsimmons, who, after losing his father to suicide, recognised the lack of tailored support for children facing similar grief. Determined to make a difference, Alfie established this unique peer support group to ensure that no child feels isolated in their loss .

Every lift, every strain, every moment of this competition is a tribute to the resilience of these young individuals. Just as I’ll be harnessing my strength to overcome physical challenges, Alfie’s Squad empowers children to find their inner strength, rebuild their lives, and connect with others who truly understand their journey.
