Story
Last year, one of my sister's dearest friends tragically lost her life to Postpartum Psychosis, a rare and devastating illness that affects 1400 families every year in the UK.
Feeling compelled to raise awareness and support for this under-recognised condition, I'm taking on the challenge of running the Paris Marathon to raise as much money as possible for Action on Postpartum Psychosis (APP).
My goal is to beat my current personal best of 3 hours 21 minutes, set when I was significantly fitter and lighter. This will be big effort and I will put myself deep into the locker to get as much out of myself as possible.
Any donations, big or small, would be incredibly appreciated. Click here to donate and help me make a difference.
More about the charity:
Action on Postpartum Psychosis (APP) is a UK charity. We’re here to make sure mums, parents and families are supported through postpartum psychosis – a severe, but treatable, form of mental illness that occurs after having a baby and affects 1400 new mums in the UK each year.
We offer information and peer support, facilitate ground breaking research, raise awareness and campaign for improved services.
Our life changing peer support network helps women and families affected by postpartum psychosis feel understood, supported and less isolated.
