Story
The JKH team have chosen the Suffolk Accident Rescue Service (SARS) as our charity of the year for 2025. The charity was nominated by our colleague Nathan, whose mother- in-law, Denice, experienced a cardiac arrest on Good Friday in 2023. A responder from SARS arrived within 3 minutes of the emergency call and provided assistance before any other emergency service arrived on the scene.
Like us, many of you may not have heard about the Suffolk Accident Rescue Service before, the charity provide immediate and advanced medical care to patients with serious or life-threatening medical conditions or trauma in the Suffolk area. All the clinicians are volunteers and give up their spare time whilst working in other medical roles such as Doctors in the NHS and Critical Care Paramedics on the East Anglian Air Ambulance.
We have been fortunate to spend time with the charity over recent weeks and the work they do is truly amazing, their quick response on the day of Denice's cardiac arrest helped to save her life and have enabled her to recover and return back to work.
On Saturday 3 May 2025, some of the JKH team will be walking the Derwent Water Walk in the Lake District, we will be walking this twice to cover a total of 20 miles (the equivalent of walking from our site in Mildenhall to Newmarket and back). We are hoping that some of the SARS team will also be joining us for the walk.
We would be grateful for any donation that you can make to help us support this incredible charity. All donations will be greatly appreciated by us and the charity. The charity receives no funding and operates solely on donations.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and helping us to raise awareness of the charity and their work. If you would like to find out more about the charity please visit: https://www.sars999.org.uk/
