Walking 1,000,000 steps · 30 September 2025

We help the babies, children and young people treated at Scotland's largest children's hospital, the Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow. We fund medical equipment, research, play programmes and family support services to ensure that our young patients receive the best possible care and experience.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My name is John Le Broq and I am an 81 year old man who is looking to walk 1,000,000 steps between June, 1st and September 30th of this year in order to raise as much funds as possible for Glasgow Children's Hospital.

I am driven by determination and a heart full of kindness to embark on this extraordinary journey to walk 1 million steps for charity. Each step I take is not just a measure of distance, but a testament to to my unwavering spirit and commitment to making a difference. Through every step and mile I hope to inspire others and raise vital funds to support those in need, proving that age is no barrier to compassion and action.

The Glasgow Children's Hospital care for approximately 160,000 children and young people each year. The hospital is the largest in Scotland and one of the leading paediatric care centers in the UK. The hospital provides family-centered care for newborns, infants, children, and young people.

The funds raised from this incredible journey will go towards enhancing the wellbeing of sick children by providing access to innovative technology and creative arts and crafts programs. These resources aim to bring comfort, joy and new opportunities for healing and expression, helping young patients feel supported and inspired during their challenging times.
