CHAPS is a Men’s Health Charity. We offer the most up to date information on prostate cancer screening. In addition we organise up to 25 prostate cancer screening events annually. 12,000 UK men die every year from prostate cancer! With your help and our direct action we can reduce this number.

Story

Following John’s diagnosis of advanced prostate cancer in August 2024, and undergoing several rounds of chemotherapy at Bart's hospital, ensuing infections. He passed away on 19th June 2025. He maintained a positive outlook and a sense of humour throughout, charming the nurses and doctors caring for him.

In lieu of floral tributes, we ask that donations be made to CHAPS, an organisation that promotes PSA (prostate-specific antigen) screening.

Founded in 2000, by Professor Chris Booth, a retired Urological Surgeon, CHAPS is a registered charity dedicated to advocacy for men's health in general and prostate cancer in particular to ensure men have the knowledge and resources needed to live longer and healthier lives.
